Some tips for Windows XP

Windows XP is definitely the best Microsoft Operating System but it’s so far to be perfect and it is known that operating systems generally need some little touches to work as we want to.

Disabling the warning “LOW DISK SPACE

When hard drive space is occupied almost entirely, Windows XP displays a message balloon that warns the user about this. There are situations where it’s not possible to clean your memory and the message becomes irritating. What can you do?

1. Go to Registry Editor and then in the “Run” window write “regedit”, and then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft?windows?CurrentVersion/Policies/Explorer.

2. Right-click in an empty space and then from the context menu select “New.DWORD Value”.

3. AT the name you should write “NoLowDiskSpaceChecks” and the value is 1.

For activation it’s necessary to restart your system.

Faster page file!

Page File it’s the correspondent of Swap File from Windows 98 and it has the same purpose: to save on your hard drive most accessed information so they can free your RAM memory. In time the pagesile.sys file becomes fragmented and that means a slow performance.

1. In Registry, at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSessionManager you should create a DWORD entry and name it “ClearPageFileAtShutdown” with value 1.

That’s it! Good luck.
