It was not too long after the appearance of the terminal market ASUS Padfone, but the manufacturer today unveiled the second version of this interesting hybrid modular. Will reach the market later this year somewhere, Padfone 2 will not conflict with not so old Padfone, at least according to manufacturer hopes. Between the two products is a major difference that will make to target different users.

This difference is not one that we would have wanted it: if Padfone was a hybrid that could be used as an Android phone, tablet and laptop, the new Padfone two loose hardware keyboard that does not even exist as a separate option at this time.

The manufacturer has promised to launch such an accessory, but will use Bluetooth keyboard will attach via a magnetic connector is promised in a future somewhere unclear. Famous Bluetooth pen that offers options and handsfree stylus was kept instead.

For those who want a hardware QWERTY keyboard, the old Padfone remains so attractive to others but the new Padfone 2 brings some interesting changes.

Handheld jumped from diagonal of 4.3 “at 4.7″, bringing superior IPS + panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and brightness of 550 lumens instead of the old S-AMOLED qHD resolution. This screen uses but, like Google Nexus 7, a protective coating Gorilla Fit, Lower famous Gorilla Glass. The hardware platform is the most powerful mobile chip timing, chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) bringing Krait quad-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and the new Adreno 320 graphics accelerator.

Not long ago was launched the LG Optimus Vu, the LG phablet announced in February and is intended to be a rival of Galaxy Notes and already we find news about a successor. The LG Optimus Vu 2 was found with a number of details by those from Notebook Italia, while the first model with Tegra CPU Snapdragon S4 3/Qualcomm it was not even launched in many countries.

Optimus Vu brings the new Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 from the Asian and American version, except that there was a Tegra 3 version of the first Vu. The first Optimus Vu was a phablet with 4:3 aspect ratio, which makes it better than other devices. LG Optimus Vu 2 has a 5-inch screen as well, an AH IPS LCD with 1024 x 768 pixels, 2 GB RAM and a 1.5 GHz dual core processor. The terminal is running Android 4.0 ICS, although it is possible to arrive with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on the market.

Other features include 16 GB internal memory, WiFi, 3G, DLNA, an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p capture and a 1.3 megapixel secondary camera. Optimus Vu also has a microSD slot, a 2150 mAh battery and frankly it did not impress us these features, with which Vu 2 does not stand out, especially against Vu 1. I do not understand the intent of LG and ASUS to have launched so quickly after the first Optimus Vu/ Padfone another successor.

This week there was held in Germany the largest event dedicated to camera enthusiasts, it’s name being Photokina. On this occasion they were taken in sight Nokia Lumia 920 and iPhone 5 for a test, which finally reveals which one is better in low light conditions.

Nokia has had a stand at Photokina and took the opportunity to challenge other phones to duel with the Pureview’s Lumia 920 camera. Different participants have posted on Twitter their test results and they were impressed by the performance of the new Lumia. The test method? Introduce the phone in a slot in a dark room and take a picture of an object, then do the same with the rival terminal. Finally, compare the images captured by the Lumia 920 and in this case the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy S III were part of this test, where Lumia 920 won again. Above you can see how the iPhone 5 and the new Lumia have pictured the same object in the dark, but the Nokia’s photo is clearer. This test comes just a day after there was made a comparison between the image stabilizer on Galaxy S III and Lumia 920. We remind you that this Nokia phone comes with a 8.7 megapixel sensor and the manufacturer says that it can take 5 to 10 times more light than its rivals. The phone has on board floating lens technology as well, which allows stabilization especially good for photos and videos.

BlackBerry is preparing a much better developed OS, designed specifically for the larger type of touch mobiles. You should deffinetly know that RIM stands out by its QWERTY keyboard phones that became the perfect business environment tools for those who write messages or emails at a high speed all the time. The best selling smartphones of the moment are full touch ones, RIM wants BB 10 -short for the BlackBerry 10 operating system expected to be launched in 2013- to bring a complete device.

A BlackBerry with touch display has emerged over time with the codename of the BlackBerry London or the BlackBerry L-series. We had seen several images over time, but nothing is known about the exact hardware. We can only make assumptions, we think that it will bring at least a phone with dual-core processor, a more powerful GPU and RAM to at least 1 GB.

BlackBerry 10 should not consume more hardware resources and it should require a quad-core processor. Not even Android applications do not need much processing power. We always liked the Blackberry phones, for their handsome appearence, and we can say that this aspect has brought a lot of people to be a Blackberry fan. Anyway, we sure do expect this terminal to look good too.

The triplet quad core is completing today with the LG Optimus 4X HD, brought to us in the tests after two famous models with this CPU: Samsung Galaxy S III and the One X HTC HD. LG Optimus 4X HD is offered for sale by the retailer Quickmobile, the black and white at a price of 553.61 USD.

The terminal known as LG P880 too was introduced in February as the first quad core smartphone in the world, but lost the start to the rivals arriving in the market only this summer. LG Optimus 4X HD weighs 133 grams and measures 8.9 mm in thickness, and its facilities include a True HD IPS LCD display of 4.7 inches and a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3. In the black box we find the little red phone, it’s Li-Ion battery of 2150 mAh, manual, a NFC Tag from LG, earbuds type headphones, USB cable and charger.

The phone runs Android 4.0 with LG Optimus UI 3.0 interface that makes transitions, icons, themes and attractive effects. We part an unique function too that allows us to zoom in by pinch when viewing videos. In the back of the phone is a 8-megapixel camera, and in the front a 1.3 megapixel camera.

The official Facebook app for Android has been criticized by most because of it’s disappointing performance and lack of solid features. Numerous attempts have been made to improve the application’s performance through updates, but so far the results are still unsatisfactory. In a recent interview, Mark Zuckerberg announced a policy change that will lead to the expected improvements in the area of mobile applications.

After the “Facebook for Android” app developers have been forced to use the software just to see how “bad” it actually is, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged at the TechCrunch conference that the use of HTML5 for mobile applications was a mistake. Zuckerberg believes that how the company will evolve in the future will depend on the mobile segment, where it is desired much bigger a achievement than in the past. For now it will only rely on native code for iOS and Android – mobile applications, for the future versions that will be available “soon”. The plans involve giving users a “faster and more responsive experience”.

When asked about the date when the new mobile applications will be available, Zuckerberg said he “they will be ready when they are ready”. I suppose it is understandable that it will take some time before we see a Facebook version running the native code for Android. Until then, we’ll just have to rely on applications from third-party sources that we used in the past too.

The Twitter account that was the one who posted those images with the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 some time before their release, posted another picture with a new phone. I’m talking about the Warp Sequent ZTE, a new smartphone released by this account, and this model is actually a version of the Grand X IN ZTE.

Grand X ZTE was presented at IFA 2012, and in the case of Sequent Warp ZTE comes with a 1.4 GHz processor, a 4.3-inch qHD display, a 5 megapixel camera and $ 200 price. Grand X IN had an Intel processor and is likely that Warp will adopt the same solution too. The Warp Sequent phone comes with Android 4.0 in stock, while Grand X IN runs a special ZTE customized version of Android.

Sequent’s predecessor, ZTE Zarp was based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread version also in stock, so I can not say I’m surprised by the choice of the OS. All the twitter account said was that the new product will hit the market on September 17 by Boost Mobile retailer, with a price of only $ 200. Note the change in the number of capacitive buttons from 4 to 3 from Grand X to the Warp Sequent.

The Motorola event also takes place on September 5, as the Nokia and Microsoft one, so it will be a busy day. If you’re wondering, the information about the “borderless screen” (edge to edge) comes right from Bloomberg, so a pretty safe source. This design development was desired by the public for years and there were rumors ever since the iPhone 4, but no company has addressed this look before. The issue that both users and manufacturers fear is the accidental press on the edge of the screen.

It seems that an edge to edge screen would fit with the new vision of Google Android 4.0, which implies giving up physical buttons in the front in favor of virtual ones. It’s been a while since Motorola has made it’s debt as an innovator in the mobile market, and we can say that the company has some liability, being the one who invented the mobile phone. Companies like Sony, Samsung and ASUS innovate, so why wouldn’t Motorola do it too? We are very curious to see what CPU will be inside the phone: an Intel one or a new Snapdragon.

Although it seems unlikely that Samsung threaten to launch a new flagship in so little time after the Galaxy S III, behold, there appeared information on the web about an upgraded version of the Galaxy Nexus. It is a comparative list of specifications, which Sammobile discovered and that lists alongside the Galaxy Nexus, the new Nexus and Galaxy S III.

The new Nexus (Galaxy Nexus GT-I9260) screen remains the same, with a diagonal of 4.65 inch , Super AMOLED technology and HD resolution, but the CPU will jump from 1.2 GHz to 1.5 GHz and the 5 megapixel camera will upgrade to 8 megapixels. The camera was seen as a weak point in the first Galaxy Nexus and the front camera will be in turn upgraded from 1.3 megapixels to 1.9. The rumor says that this model will have microSD slot too, another good thing, since the terminal had only internal memory in the original version.
Frankly I hope that the new Nexus is not just a small upgrade to last year’s model, but a completely new terminal. At one point there was a rumor about a launch of no less than 5 Nexus phones with Android’s anniversary this fall, but rumors will probably remain just rumors.

I would say that it is a story with good and bad things. LG certainly will not enjoy a good feedback after they kept postponing the transition of its phones to Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, the LG Optimus Sol and Optimus Black phones will not enjoy ICS 4.0.

At one moment it was said that even the LG Optimus 2X will not get Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, although we are talking about a smartphone with a Tegra 2 1 dual-core GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, GeForce ULP as a graphics accelerator and 8 GB storage space. There should be no reason why the first dual-core smartphone in the world would not receive this software update. It has the processing power and enough storage space.

LG Canada said that Optimus 2X will not get Android 4.0, but LG South Korea claims that they are working on the update and it will arrive on schedule as announced. It should come in Q3 2012, that would be in a month and a half. It may be that the Android 4.0 will come only on the Optimus 2X from South Korea and internationally not, although we do not see why it would not do porting world wide too.

If there are so many discussions about the 4.0 it officialy does not make sense to think of 4.1 Jelly Bean if you have an Optimus 2X. This negative feedback will be against some of the top phones LG like Optimus 4X HD. It is a great thing to create an positive reputation, and to have your customer base.
